Energy Efficiency Everything You Need. Lower Bills From Day One.

Most builders offer energy efficient features as expensive upgrades.
We include them as standard.

The average Goodwyn Building homeowner sees significantly lower utility costs than a comparable resale or code-minimum new home. That means lower monthly costs, more predictable ownership, and a home that performs the way it should before you ever make your first payment. That monthly savings matters. It's part of why we build this way. Before energy-efficient features: ~$200/month VS. After energy-efficient features: ~$125/month

What's Included in Every Goodwyn Building Home

Every home we build includes the same set of performance standards.

Every Goodwyn Building home uses open-cell spray foam on both the roof deck (6") and exterior walls (3.5"). Spray foam outperforms traditional insulation by sealing air and moisture infiltration, not just slowing it down. The result: lower energy bills, better indoor air quality, and a structurally stronger home. Most builders offer this as a premium upgrade. It's standard here.
Our homes include a heat pump hot water heater that saves approximately $25/month compared to a standard unit. That's real money every month, not just at closing.
Low-emissivity glass reduces home energy usage significantly by limiting the infrared and UV rays that drive up cooling costs in Alabama summers. Less heat transfer means lower bills and a more comfortable interior year-round.
We install a matched 14.3 SEER electric air-to-air heat pump with R-4.2 ductwork located entirely within conditioned space. Ductwork that runs through unconditioned attics loses efficiency. Your Goodwyn Building home doesn't.
Ductwork and most plumbing are fully inside the thermal envelope - meaning they're never exposed to unconditioned air. This isn't common in production homebuilding. It is with Goodwyn Building.

This is the standard. Not the sales pitch.

We don't build two versions of a Goodwyn home: one with efficient features and one without. Every buyer gets the same performance package. That consistency is intentional, and it's been part of how we build for decades. That difference adds up. Every month.

If you want to see what that looks like in person, our homes are available to walk before drywall goes up, so you can see what goes behind the walls.
